This is my first passive income report. The goal of this monthly post is to keep a track and motivate both me, and you, to reach the final goal: financial independence.
Why passive income?
Because you can earn money without working at a 9 to 6 job. Money will work for you even when sleeping or being in vacation. The idea is to find diverse sources of income, so you can find a balance between working and living. I personally do think that our scope in life is greater than just working, and we should enjoy life at fullest.
Sources of income
For the moment I have only two sources of passive income, that is why I am working to create some online classes for Udemy. Those should add another extra money every month.
Let’s see report of what I earned this month from my passive sources:
1 . P2P Lending income: Mintos – €5.17
I’ve started investing on Mintos a few months ago. I got a net annual return of 11,44%. I still added money over the months, that is why I did not calculated the exact return in percentage for May. My total investment was 800 euro, the difference of 7.7 euro is the interest I got during last months, all the interest is reinvested.
I am planning to try other P2P websites because I want to diversify my portfolio.
2 . Medium – $7.59
Last month I started writing articles on Medium. I earned the following:
- $6.21 for ‘How I got a Software Tester job without a Computer Science degree’
- $1.38 for ‘How to write better bug reports’
3 . Stocks – $0
Finally, these are the stocks that I owned at the end of May 2019. I did not received any dividend income or profit from selling stocks, as I did not sold anything. I have a long term strategy for most of the stocks, so there are high chances that this category will not generate any considerable income in the following months.
|Company||Sector||Quantity||Return (%)||Profit in USD|
If we exchange the euros from Mintos to dollars and add the earnings from Medium, we’ll have a total of $13.44 passive income for May.
I know that is not a lot, but the most important thing is that I am really excited for the future because there are still many opportunities that I want to explore.
